About the event
What happens when a moving image becomes something you can draw?
In this workshop, film replaces the traditional life model. Working from carefully selected scenes shown with and without sound, in colour and in black and white, we'll explore how different ways of experiencing an image shape what we notice and what we choose to put on paper.
Through repetition, quick sketches and close observation, we'll experiment with drawing as a way of seeing rather than simply recording. As scenes unfold, you'll respond to movement, rhythm, gesture, composition and atmosphere, discovering how perception shifts with every viewing.
No drawing experience is necessary, this workshop is open to anyone curious about sketching, observation and mark-making. Led by Durga Chatterjee, a fine artist- this session invites participants to look beyond the obvious, using drawing as a tool for observation, curiosity and new ways of seeing familiar scenes.
